World Book Day

Official World Book Day, Thursday 2nd March 2023

A fun filled World Book Day 2023

There were so many amazing book characters who came to school on Friday 3rd March.

During the day, the classes enjoyed a special Service, engaged in a variety of book activities, and to end the day, spent some time sharing a story with a book buddy.

Thursday 3rd March 2022 marks the

25th anniversary

of

World Book Day

To mark this special occasion on 3rd March, we would like to encourage the children to come into school dressed as one of their favourite book characters.

We would also like the children to take part in a book swap, where they bring a book from home that they have enjoyed reading or no longer read and think that their classmates would enjoy. The children would then have an opportunity to swap their book for another one that interests them. Please find books at home to use for the book swap, ensuring that they are age appropriate for your child. Books can be brought into classes from Tuesday 1st March as the swap will take place later in the week.

This week, look out for the £1 book token coming home with your child/children.

The National Literacy Trust website is packed full of resources and fantastic ideas to inspire and encourage reading for pleasure.
