Year 6

Welcome to our Year 6 class page 2024-25

Teacher: Mr Davis

Support Staff: Mrs Gould-Coates

Welcome to Year 6! You can find lots of information on our page about what is going on throughout the year.

Reminders:

Homework:

  • Spelling - Spelling homework will be handed out on a Tuesday and will be expected to be handed in the following Tuesday. Children are also expected to access their Spelling Shed accounts throughout the week.
  • Maths - TTRS should be accessed each week to keep on top of your multiplication and division facts and to increase your speed of recall.
  • Reading - It is the expectation that you should be reading at least 5 times a week and to have it signed in your diary by an adult. You don't have to read aloud each time. It may be a case of talking to your adult about what you have read and they may ask you questions.
  • NEW MATHS AND SPaG - This year, you will also be given a workbook for each subject to take home. You will be asked to complete a set page - a page that relates to the work we have been doing in class - and to bring them in each Tuesday to go through.

PE Kit:

PE kit should be complete and be in school every day. Our set days for PE are Monday and Thursday. Kit will go home at the end of each half term to be washed.

Swimming Lessons:

This year, we will be having our lessons on Friday afternoon starting in Term 2. Please make sure you have the correct equipment needed for this day.

If you ever have a question or any information to hand over, please feel free to see me before or after school, or to pass it onto the office and I'll contact you as soon as possible.

Please see the attached welcome PowerPoint for any additional information about Year 6.

We look forward to an amazing year ahead working with you and your children.
